Sangre De Cristos from Echo Valley

gary tompkins August 3, 2015

This is a fine picture of the Sangre de Cristos with the snow still on the peaks. Actually, it's several images stitched together to get this wide panoramic view. The Clouds look great and the view down the valley gives it great depth. What this image lacks is the Sangres aren't prominent enough as the focal point, they are beautiful but too far in the backdrop and too small.

I don't know if you can get an image like this to work—move in to make the snow capped mountains bigger and you lose the depth of the valley, keep the depth and the mountains are too small in the picture.

Maybe someday I'll find a viewpoint that works better.
